GURUVAYOOR TEMPLE

This is a rare temple dedicated to Lord Rama in Kerala situated on the bank of the river Theevra. The typical Kerala architecture, exquisite wood carvings, sculptures and mural paintings will make for an interesting sight.

The “BhulokaVaikunda”

Among the most visited temples in Kerala, the 1000 year old Guruvayoor is considered the abode of Lord Vishnu on earth. The mural paintings which decorate the temple walls have a story to tell. Along with darshan if time permits also visit the elephant fort which is home to 50 odd elephants belonging to the temple. Relax for the night at your hotel.

VADAKKUMNATHA TEMPLE

The sanctum has a lingam of Shiva covered in a mound of ghee 16 foot high which is formed by daily ghee ablution over years. The temple Koothambalam has 4 magnificent gateways and lofty masonry with imposing pieces of craftsmanship and skills

The awe-inspiring Vadakumnathan temple is also the home ground of the colourful Thrissur Pooram festival.

MAMMIYOOR SRI MAHADEVA TEMPLE:

Everyone who visits the Guruvayur temple, makes sure that they visit Mammiyoor Mahadeva Kshetram, a Shiva temple known for its beautiful paintings on the walls and the exquisite sculptures. The devotees believe that their spiritual journey is incomplete if they don't visit Mammiyoor Temple, immediately after visiting the Guruvayur temple, which is one of the most popular Shree Krishna Temple in Kerala. The Mammiyoor temple also has shrines of Lord Mahavishnu, Ganapathi, Muruga, Darma Sastha, and Brahmmarakshas, Serpent Gods, and Mother Bhagavati Amman.

VAIKOM MAHADEVA TEMPLE

The Vaikom Mahadev Temple is a must visit destination in Kerala which is 33 km away from Ernakulam and 40 km away from Kottayam. It's a sacred destination for tourists, dedicated to Vaikkathu Perumthrikkovilappan (a form a Lord Shiva). Sprawled over 8 acres of areas, the idol of Lord Ganesha is the major attraction of this shrine. The temple makes a leading trio with Ettumanoor Shiva Temple, Kaduthuruthy Thaliyil Mahadev Temple. It is believed that worshipping all these three temples in a day make the wishes come true. The idol of Panachikkal Bhagavathi and the Sarppa Sanidhya (the god of snakes) are also kept within premises to worship.

SREE PADMANABHA SWAMY TEMPLE

Sree padmanabhaswamy temple thiruvananthapuram is a famous hindu temple of lord vishnu,located inside the fort in city of thiruvananthapuram,kerala,india.The padmanabhaswamy temple is a form of vishnu in anananthasayanam posture.This is an ancient temple and the city of thiruvananthapuram derives its name from the name of the presiding deity enshrined in the temple.

 

The Presiding diety is Mahavishnu reclining on the serpent ‘Anantha’ The architectural work in this temple is famous. The Ottakalmandapam ( Made of single stone) is a special attraction. The rulers of Travancore were called padmanabhadasan.

Today this is the richest temple in the world. Treasures of Gold, diamonds, emeralds etc were stored in the temples store rooms for centuries before it was opened for accounting recently.
